Would you like to have a music box play a special song that you love, but cannot find this music box anywhere? We can make it happen.
Please provide (i) the special song that you want to commission; (ii) the message you would like to engrave on the top lid (if any); and (iii) the message/photo you would like to place on the inner lid. It takes about 30-60 days in total to develop a new tune, create the one-of-a-kind music box, and deliver it to your address.
The main difference between various note options are as follows:
Based on the above, please also give us the specific time-stamped segment of the song you would like us to focus on in the "Any other instructions?" field above. E.g. if you picked a 18-note box, please give us a 15s time-stamped segment or if you picked 30-note, please give us a 30s time-stamped segment.
Please note that not all songs can be successfully converted into a mechanical music movement (e.g. certain rap/rock songs), due to inherent limitations of the sound produced by a physical music movement. Accordingly, if cancellation of a bespoke order is requested after the audio preview is generated, we will only be able to refund the order less the labor costs already incurred for music programming. If you would like the music box to sound as close as possible to your chosen tune, the Custom Digital Music Box would be your ideal option. If you have any questions, please contact us at support@themusicbox.store. We are happy to help!
Please see the video below for an example of a customer commissioned music box, for the song "Can't Help Falling In Love".

The bespoke music box is a very fine piece! It allows for almost unlimited customization options (making it a very fine gift choice), and The Music Box Store communicates with you every step of the way to make sure it is too your liking. The sound quality is significantly improved, as you'd expect for the price.
I ordered a 72 note music box from here as a valentines gift for my girlfriend. It took some time for the actual production of the music box, which is understandable given how much work went into customizing it, but if you understand that and order in advance of when you want it, then the final product is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the wait. Joanna was my point of contact throughout production and was extremely friendly, helpful, and was able to explain things to me in a way that made sense despite not knowing much about music or the mechanics of the music box production. Once produced, it shipped very fast, taking about 5 days to ship, while the production process took about half a year because I wanted a custom song that was a little more difficult to convert into a music box, but they were able to do it in the end. I can’t wait to give this gift to my girlfriend, it’s absolutely beautiful and something that we will treasure for the rest of our lives. I’d highly recommend it for anyone looking for a unique and meaningful gift, especially if you aren’t in a rush and have time to plan it out ahead of time, these guys can help make it perfect

I worked very closely with the staff to design and create my bespoke music box. They were very helpful and advised me on the technical details until the final music box was exactly what I wanted
Incredible! I had been searching for the right music box solution for almost a year. The problems I had run into included the price, communication, lack of product, inability to create my arrangement. I had all of those things taken care of for me here. Nate was my guy! I spent months emailing him back and forth on what I wanted, and he stuck with me, AND he had an amazing attitude the whole time! He helped me create an amazing music box that I hope will be cherished forever by the love of my life! I couldn't be more thrilled with my product!
Had this beautiful music box made that plays our first dance song for my husband for our 25th wedding anniversary. He loves it and the customer service was great from first enquiry to helping me design it to a very quick delivery. Thank you so much. It’s something for us to treasure forever.
The Music Box team was very communicative about the product throughout the entire process. I had final say in every decision which was amazing and the music box came in the mail and it’s absolutely beautiful and perfect! I will definitely be ordering again in the future. Thank you all so much!
Worth the wait. Excellent quality and craftsmanship. And customer service was responsive when needed. I'm very pleased with the product.

I ordered the music box for our 20th Anniversary; she loved it - she said it is such a "unique present". She usually hates my suprise presents so I'm thrilled that she loved this one. Thany you for the quality of the product and the ability to make someone's day that little bit special.

The team was responsive to my questions prior to purchase. Once the purchase was initiated, I received a draft of their adaptation of my song snippet. I made a request regarding song tempo changes, they made the change, and a few weeks later I was handing my wife her favorite gift of the Christmas season: a beautiful music box featuring a photo of our family and a song that we danced to at our wedding (When I’m with You by Sheriff). Great work, and lovely craftsmanship.

I am ultimately very satisfied with my experience working with The Music Box Store. The development of my music box occurred over the course of two different years, due to my own time restraints. After over a 6 month gap in between my initial contact with a "Joanna," we picked up right where we left off when I had returned, as if it had only been a couple days. Joanna helped me fine tune my music box to my exact liking, and inquired with her technical team upon request to ensure that all of my concerns were heard and acted upon. I am very satisfied with my purchase; my music box is unique, and beautiful. I know my partner is going to love it when the time comes! The Music Box Store will make you a truly unique music box that your friend or significant other will surely hold on to for the rest of their life. It was an absolute pleasure working with their team, and thank you again to Joanna.

The box is beautiful, and was custom made for me. The team worked with me on the custom music, and were very patient in all my questions & changes! I reccommend them!
The back and forth getting the order initiated was a bit hectic and frustrating, but I couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. Wonderful !
The music box was beautiful. The craftmanship and care taken was obvious. It was just what I wanted.
The box is bigger than expected! The details are amazing, looks very professional work. I love how they made the exact tone I wanted.
Super happy with the results, quality above all, very easy to work with when I wanted my own custom music. Would recommend to anyone looking for a very special and personal gift. <3
Within hours of placing my order, Joanna contacted me and was in contact with me every step of the way. From the initial request, through the picture and inscription, to the rough audio file, and the video of the final product. Just an outstanding product along with an amazing customer service. I can't thank Joanna and the Music Box Store enough.
i m satisfied with it.
Purchased a custom box for my Anniversary and lets just say she like it so much she agreed to never leave me :)
Absolutely stellar job on creating a melody for Simon and Garfunkel's Bridge Over Troubled Water, Nate was communicative throughout the design process and was quick to respond to any queries I had. Shipping was really fast as well, I know my mother will love this gift (which came wrapped in a lovely bow, as well).
The team behind this business is one of the most responsive merchants ever! They have responded to my enquiries and made sure that I had the right music box [with correct tune] delivered to me. Packaging was certainly secured and the items were on their tiptop shape when I received it. Thank you ❤️
My wife loved it (it was an anniversary gift). Nate and his staff were extremely helpful in creating it (even when I screwed up and gave them incorrect info!)
