It is a nice gift, but I did have a couple things I was not expecting. I was thinking the picture inside was going to be engraved, but maybe that’s not possible with the premium wood? Also, the tune is not quite right (it’s close but the chords are just a little off). That being said, it’s still really cool and my wife loved it 🙂
A wonderful music box. We went back and forth for a bit, but it came back perfect. Nothing beats the crank feeling along with a custom tune near and dear to your heart. Very lovely.

I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of communication I received through the process. Clarifying questions and a video of the final product for approval. I was extremely happy with the whole process.
The music box is beautiful, a little smaller than I imagined but otherwise very lovely and my partner appreciated it a lot. The issue I faced is that the support I received during the production process was very poor. Initially at the time of placing the order I was advised the turnaround was 30-45 days. After around two weeks, I was given a sample of the music, which was different to what I requested, although the part of the song I requested could not be properly replicated which was fair enough. After agreeing to a different part of the song, it took 20 days and three follow ups on my end to get another sample. The order was well behind schedule and was intended for an anniversary gift around 50 days after placing the order originally. I was advised that the actual timeframe was 45-60 days instead. Later, after receiving the new sample and agreeing to it, I questioned the ETA and was then told (in the same email chain) that the production process actually has a 45-55 day turnaround on its own. At no point was I ever given a consistent timeframe nor was I ever offered any compensation for this other than that the order would be marked as "urgent" at around the 45 day mark, which still did not prevent the order taking over 60 days to arrive. In the end, I am happy with the product but it did not arrive in time for the anniversary and the lack of support received, considering how much I paid for it, was very disappointing.

Exactly what I was hoping for! Be sure to order a couple months in advance, it takes a while for it to be made and ship.
It was amazing to hear in person especially hearing it slowly unwind and get slower makes it feel more sentimental
I thought I read on the website it would take 4-5 weeks to receive a custom music box. I ordered it on or just before Valentine’s Day, it arrived yesterday, almost the end of April. It took about 9 weeks. The box its self is beautiful wood, heart shaped. The inscription on the lid came out exactly as I’d hoped and looked fantastic with great detail. The music box mechanics are also attractive and seem very solid. I did receive an audio clip of the tune to approve before production. My wife listened to “our song” and couldn’t recognize it, even after I told her. The customer service and communication was fantastic all throughout the process. This is definitely a great gift. Just be sure to pay attention to delivery time and get the music tune perfect. Ultimately this gift didn’t work out for us but the team is great and they can make a beautiful memory you can keep forever.
I'm so happy that I found The Music Box Store. I bought this customized box for my 6 year old daughter who has been asking for one for some time. The custom song came out more perfect than I can explain. There was great communication during the building process, which allowed me to preview everything before it was created. The gift brought my daughter into "ugly crying" and the whole room was brought to tears. I would recommend TMBS to anybody.
